Sample Case Study

In this episode, Nav Gill, founder of Roshni Wellness, shares her journey of transforming burnout into a purpose-driven wellness brand. Rooted in cultural storytelling and ancestral healing, Roshni began with handmade candles and incense that symbolize “Roshni”—light or brightness in both Punjabi and Afghan heritage.

The episode ends with a student challenge: how should Roshni Wellness position itself in the crowded wellness market, identify its ideal target segment, and allocate a $25,000 budget for maximum growth while staying true to its purpose?

Chris Ricard, Marketing Faculty, Douglas College (2025)

"I shared some of the great ideas that came from the students and the client was interested in connecting with some of the students so there ended up being potential for some follow-up and freelance work.  Students could see their ideas in action and how the marketing process works."
